Hello! My name is Mark and I am a Christian who has been called to missions in Mexico. After being a drug addict and alcoholic for many years, God got a hold of me and I surrendered my life to Him. Since then He has taken me on an amazing journey and showed me that I wasn’t called to the American dream and that He had something much greater in mind. So, I sold my house paid off my debt, sold a majority of my belongings and have committed myself to what I believe God is calling me to do.
What I do
Share Jesus with local communities
I do this in variety of ways, sharing my testimony of how God saved me from drug/ alcohol addiction and who Jesus really is and what He is like. Through my love of surfing and skating I especially have a desire to share Jesus with surfers and skaters who often struggle with drugs, alcohol and the party scene. I want to be an example to everyone that living for Jesus is the best choice you could ever make and far greater than the pleasures the world has to offer.
Attend and support the local Church
I believe being part of and actively serving in the Church are an important part of the Christian life. I do this by helping lead the youth group, playing in the band as well as coming along side the lead pastor in his vision for the church. I also want to be a blessing to the church financially as well. American dollars go a long way in Mexico. What may seem financially impossible for a church down here would be just a drop in the bucket for your average American Church. Assist fellow missionaries and short term teams
Before going all in on the mission field I started off by going on a number of short term trips to confirm what I believed God was calling me to do. Short term trips, when done right can have major impact in local communities. I plan to continue to partner with and assist local missionary organizations when they have incoming teams. I want to encourage and inspire people to live the life God has called them to, especially if it pertains to missions.
